Flexibility is key with Modernize for Windows (Assist) as it integrates a level of human intervention alongside our automated replatforming tool kit allowing completion within hours for each replatforming. The user of the Modernize for Windows (Assist) tool kit can determine the application end state or landing zone of the application such as;

The latest Windows Server Operating Systems, e.g., 2019 or 20xx.
 

In a Virtual Machine state, on any cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
 

Container platform that supports Windows containers cloud-native container.

Modernize for Microsoft SQL Server

The process of replatforming and migration Microsoft SQL Server with the Carbonize Modernize for Microsoft SQL Server is simple.

The Modernize for Microsoft SQL Server is a hyper-automated replatforming, modernization and migration software technology that is specifically used for the replaforming of Legacy Microsoft SQL 2008, 2012 and 2016 Servers that are currently loaded on legacy Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 / 2016 Operating Systems.

During the automated replatforming process, the Modernize for Microsoft SQL Server software will ingest the full backup of the legacy database where it will then be transformed so that it is operational on Red Hat Linux (Red Hat 7/8/9) but now running the latest Microsoft SQL Server 2019.

As with all the Modernize Suite software technologies, the Modernize for Microsoft SQL Server software will not interfere with the source system which means that it can remain in an operational state during the replatforming and migration process, ensuring less risk and more control in the replatforming or modernization process.

During the replatforming process, Carbonize’s integrated Microscan Security engine, will conduct a battery of Cyber Security scans, such as a Vulnerability, Cyber Threat Hunting and Malware scan of the application being replatformed. A completed cybersecurity report will be presented in a downloadable report with the severity of the vulnerabilities clearly indicated from low to high and ready for immediate remediation by your cyber security specialists.

Upon completion of the “uplift, lift and replatforming” process, the Modernize for Microsoft SQL Server software will conduct a validation report to ensure the integrity of the modernization and migration License package of your choice 

The process of this replatforming and migration requires only a few steps. The first, agree to install the server. The next is to provide the database name from which the full backup came from on your original Windows server and then provide a new password for this Microsoft SQL 2019 server followed by the acceptance of the End User license agreements that are provided. In a Virtual Machine state, on any cloud or on-premises infrastructure.

The Modernize for Linux process of replatforming is straightforward. With a few simple clicks and commands relating to the source and the destination followed by the profiling of the target source system so that it can work out what needs to be done to replatform and migrate all those capabilities onto the destination system.  The process of replatforming can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours depending on the source system that you’re migrating from.

The Modernize for Linux tool kit does not require the source code and during the replatforming process, the source system can remain in an operating state, ensuring less risk and more control in the replatforming or modernization process.
